The company’s website now describes the box as a “multi-purpose product for everyday use”, with the cardboard, plastic, wood, and rubber used in its exterior, along with “a recycled foam-core foam fabric and a plastic sheet”.
While it does not mention which material the box is made from, it is a clear reference to a “non-metallic” wood-based foam, which is also the material used for the box’s interior, with the box having a plastic lining that is made out of plastic.
“The box’s exterior is made of recycled plastic and a recycled foam core,” the company explained.
“This recycled material is a non-metallurgical process that eliminates the need for harsh chemicals.
It also uses 100% renewable, renewable energy, which eliminates the environmental impact.”
While the new box will not be available for purchase until February 10, the company has already begun manufacturing the boxes.
The brand also revealed that the box will have “unique packaging features”, including a “welcome basket” that will include “nearly 500” items, a “shoe case” that “will contain items for a shoe-box”, and a “nose-box” that contains “numerous accessories”.
The company is hoping to make a further statement in the coming months by announcing a partnership with the Canadian government, as well as a partnership “to offer new materials and innovative packaging solutions in Canada”.
The new boxes will also be made in Canada.
